Style loving thrift hoarder and blogger behind Ifyouseekstyle, Caylee shows us how she pairs her latest treasure finds from among the bustling streets of Chicago.
What do you do?
Retail management, merchandising, and my blog on the side.
What do you love about your work?
Creative control. At work, I love selling to the customer through commerciality. On my blog, it's all about expressing myself through personal style, photography, and music.
Best advice received at work?
A country manager once told a very young and impressionable me to 'be the absolute best in your current position to get exactly where you want to be'. It has stuck ever since.
Simple and casual cool. I think a thrifty version of an Isabel Marant/Madewell love child is a good description. I love Parisian street style more than anything.
Best style advice received:
Someone told me to never stop thrifting, because I always find the best pieces that look just like what's at Zara or Topshop. I know it's inspiring for girls like myself who don't have the budget to shop designer and even high street. I promise, I never will stop.
Past fashion faux-pas:
In high school, I was that Abercrombie/Hollister chick. And I'm not ashamed - it was cool back then!
Who inspires you?:
My small circle of friends and family who I can say I truly love. They are there for the good times, the bad times, and the average in-between times to celebrate, support, and encourage, even when I'm not at my best self. I surround myself with them and people I can learn from because their character and subsequent actions are inspiring to my own.
Favorite quote of the day:
"I want to be like water. I want to slip through fingers, but hold up a ship." - Michelle Williams
5 years from now?:
This is one thing I do not have a straight answer to. I have learned in the past that if I have a plan, it never goes as such and you just get disappointed. I'm living day by day, keeping the bigger picture of what I want (such as my career path and a family) in mind while I hash out minor details along the way (such as where I live, travel, etc). Who knows where I'll end up, but I know I'll be happy.
What’s in your essential clutch?
iPhone, orange Tic Tacs, keys, wallet, Ray-Ban sunglasses, mascara, lipstick, lip balm, a CTA card, and Chloe eau de parfum rollerball.
